interactive: click to drop a raindrop anywhere in the world and watch where it ends up. (River Runner Global)

photos: My Little Secret Montmartre, in Paris (MessyNessy)

video: jazz great Doreen Ketchens with the Louisiana Orchestra (YouTube, 2018). Playing her clairnet on “Just a Closer Walk with Thee.” We used to go hear her and her band at the Saco River Grange Hill in Bar Mills, Maine, in the 1990s and early 2000s. What fun concerts those were on a cold winter’s night in New England.

short essays: Eleven Ways of Smelling a Tree (David Haskell, Emergence Magazine). Includes basswood, ginkgo, gin & tonic (juniper), bay laurel, ponderosa pine, and others. Lovely.
