That I might know the innermost weave
of the world, witness
its dynamic and creation,
and stop rummaging around in words. — Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Photo: Chamaenerion angustifolium (fireweed), red leaves and fluffy seedheads, and 5-leaved Parthenocissus quinquefolia (Virginia creeper), climbing over the guardrail — both invasive plants, or said more politely, “rampant growers,” at Kezar Lake, North Sutton, NH, 3 Oct. 2018

  1. The fall color of that Parthenocissus is so dramatic! I grow the silver veined version of it. It’s scrambling up my massive Great Southern Magnolia, adding some fall color to an evergreen tree.
