What’s in Bloom Here Now – December 2015

Blooms? Bwahaha! It’s mid-December in northern New England.

It’s fun looking at other people’s actual flower blooms, but although we don’t have any snow cover yet — quite unusual — and it’s been unseasonably warm, with high temps for the past week ranging from 39 to 57F, which is 12F degrees above normal, and lows from 21 to 42F, 14F degrees above normal, there is really very little in bloom here now outside — except the heather!

I’m not sure why it’s blooming now — or why it is and other plants aren’t, with our mild weather — but I’ll take it.

Otherwise, leaf veggies, herbs re-greening, dramatic foliage, and a small Christmas display will have to do for this month’s blooms.
