art/images: Member in the Spotlight: Robin Archer, USA (Art Delivery/The Jealous Curator) “the loose ‘n lovely work of Minneapolis based artist Robin Archer,” who “grew up in a small town on the midwestern prairie and I am still drawn to wide-open landscapes, old houses, country roads, and wandering along a creek in the woods. I document what inspires me with watercolor and the camera lens, always searching for the crossroads of place and memory.” I admire the way only a few gestures of paint bring the place and its mood to life.
list: 38 True Things (Sophie Lucido johnson/You Are Doing A Good Enough Job). True things like “It isn’t going to feel this way forever. It will move.” and “Under capitalism, humans are not given sufficient time to grieve. They are not given sufficient time to rest. They are not given sufficient time to get their periods, or go through menopause.” Also, “‘Door hinge’ is a valid rhyme for ‘orange.'”
photo essay: The Beauty of Native Wild Indigo: A Closer Look (Shari at Nuts for Natives). I particularly love “Cherries Jubilee” and “Lemon Meringue.”
