photo essay: Designing Fall Vignettes (Karen Chapman/Le Jardinet) Inspirational. I like the idea of incorporating evergreens that change colour and leaving seedheads for texture and colour contrast. That last photo is stunning.
15-min video: Yoga for Neck, Shoulders & Upper Back (Paula Lay/YouTube)
1-hour video: Longwood Reimagined (YouTube/Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square PA) “Filmed over four years, this sweeping documentary follows a cast of visionary architects, landscape designers, and preservationists as they transform 17 acres” of Longwood Gardens, Having just visited, I appreciated the backstory and basked in my recent experience of the space.
photo essay: An artist’s house in the Cotswolds layered with bold colours and collected pieces (Charlotte McCaughan-Hawes & Christopher Harwood/House & Garden UK) As the newsletter from which I linked to this recommendation put it, “My gosh this chaotically pretty house!!! Gasp!” It’s not my style (I did gasp, however, particularly at the second photo) but many maximalists will appreciate it. And there are a lot of photos. The owner, Catherine Cazalet, notes “I had a wonderfully eccentric aunt who was always dressed entirely in green or purple and I inherited a lot from her, mostly lamps.”
