I found one which had made a web in my hostas this morning. Distinctive zig zag in web(stablementum).
    Do you see them often?

    1. Hi! I don’t see them much here — not sure I have actually seen one in my own yard, though I have seen a few on trails — but several friends have reported them in their yards. When we’re at Jekyll Island, GA, or in northern Fla., we see (and try to avoid being hit in the head while biking by) so many different kinds of orb weavers, including many that look very similar to the species you mention.Maybe I’ll go out and check my hostas today! I have a photo of one with a cicada in its web.
