essay: Ask vs guess culture (Jean Hsu/Tech & Tea). “When unreasonable requests are followed up with ‘but you could have just said no!’ Exploring the clashes of ask culture and guess culture, at home and at work.” I’m an asker (80% of the time, and the other 20% of the time I’m frustrated and exhausted by trying to guess) but I know a lot of guessers, so I often add something like, “it’s fine if you can’t” (and I mean it).
