LINK FEST: 6 SEPTEMBER 2022

Links that may or may not be related to gardens, food, travel, nature, or heterotopias and liminal spaces but probably are. Sources in parentheses.

photos: Things Come Apart (Todd McLellan). Things coming apart.

essay: Mari Recommends: End of Summer Edition: Stuff I’ve loved this summer (Mari Andrew/Out of the Blue). I’m a sucker for this kind of essay, revolving around human mimetic desire. “A fun byproduct of being a guest is that you get to try on someone else’s habits and rhythms for a few days, and maybe bring some of those souvenirs back home.” These are those habits, rhythms, ideas, products, patterns, foods, scents, etc., that she’s brought home.

photos: macrofying (Instagram). Zooming in close to materials, animals, plants, objects, phenomena. Click for videos or slides. The bumblebee, swoon.

photo essay: The Adventures of Paisa the Colombian Mountain Pup (The Radavist/Ryan Wilson). Breathtaking photographs and the story of a stray dog from a cycling expedition in mountainous Colombia.

animated short: Kayak: hilarious kayaking trip with father and young son (Vimeo/École des Nouvelles Images). 6-minutes.
