“…And we pray, not for new
earth or heaven, but to be quiet
in heart, and in eye clear.
What we need is here.”

We visited a new garden this weekend, the Mt. Cuba Center on almost 550 acres in Hockessin, DE, specialising in plants native to the east coast of the U.S. They have other plants but they are moving more and more toward eastern and mid-Atlantic natives.
We got there at 11 a.m. on Sunday, just in time to take a 45-minute garden tour with Barbara, who has been affiliated with the gardens for many years and was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about them. Highlights for us were the butterflies, everywhere, and the ponds and pond life: turtles, frogs, dragonflies, fish, lotuses.
Enjoy the slide show!
And visit their very active Facebook page.
