I was struck on a recent visit to Ogunquit, Maine, by the many and varied gardens there and nearby:
the ocean, beach, dunes, plover and tern nesting grounds;
plantings by hotels and the town along Marginal Way, particularly new signs about removal of invasive plants and replanting of native plants;
a community garden adjoining the short Beach Plum Farm walking trail;
a local artist’s garden;
and in Wells, Laudholm Farm’s walking trails and meadows.
