It’s basically early winter here now, with a few inches of snow on the ground, highs in the 20s-40Fs and lows in the single digits Farenheit. This Wednesday morning was the coldest, at 7F degrees, that it’s been since 8 March, when the low was 0F; on 9 March the low reached 17F and we never looked back.

Absolutely nothing is flowering in my yard today but nevertheless I’m going to make the most of every bloom that lingered into late October and even after 2 Nov., when we hit 28F for the first time this season.
